CarsBook only works if a dealer on the other side of the listing can trust what they read. These are the rules that keep that true. They apply to your account, your listings, your documents and your messages.

Breaking these rules can cost you the account. We would rather remove a bad listing than remove a good dealer, so we act on the listing first where we can. Repeat or serious breaches can mean suspension or permanent closure.

1. Be honest about who you are

  • Register with your real business name, owner name, mobile number and address.
  • Use verification documents that genuinely belong to you or your dealership.
  • Do not create a second account to get a second free plan, to get around a plan limit, or after a suspension.
  • Do not log in as another dealer or let anyone else use your account.

Verification normally takes 24 to 48 hours. We may ask for a document again, or for a call, before approving an account.

2. List only cars you can actually sell

  • Only list a car you own, or have written authority to sell.
  • The price, year, kilometres, ownership count, fuel and transmission you enter must match the car.
  • Photos must show the actual vehicle being offered, not a stock image or another dealer's car.
  • Do not list a car that is already sold, reserved elsewhere, or impounded, without saying so plainly.
  • Do not list the same car repeatedly to push a price up, or list and withdraw it repeatedly to mislead other dealers.

3. Upload real documents only

  • Only attach a registration certificate, insurance, pollution control certificate, service record or NOC that is genuine and relates to the car in the listing.
  • Do not alter, edit or forge a document.
  • Do not attach a document belonging to another vehicle, or another dealer's document.
  • Do not photograph or forward a buyer's private document onwards.

Documents are private by default. They are never shown on the network. A buyer dealer can only ask to view a document, and you decide whether to share it. Do not try to obtain a document by asking for one you were not offered.

4. Keep your listing within your plan

  • Your plan sets how many cars you can have live at the same time. Publishing stops when you reach the limit.
  • Do not attempt to raise your limit by deleting a listing and immediately recreating it under a new dealer identity.
  • Buying more listings is normal and allowed. Working around the limit is not.
  • On the free plan, each listing runs for 30 days. A free listing cannot be removed or swapped before its 30 days are up, and it is taken down automatically afterwards so the slot can be used again. Do not treat this as a fault: it is how the free plan stays limited to one car at a time.
  • Do not use paid-plan listings to work around the free plan's one-car limit, and do not create extra accounts to hold more free listings than the free plan allows.

5. Communicate honestly

  • Describe the condition of a car truthfully, including known defects.
  • Do not send a buyer dealer to another dealer to win the deal and then pull away without telling them why.
  • Do not make an offer you have no intention of honouring, or withdraw an offer after a buyer has committed in order to reopen price.
  • No harassment, no threats, no abusive or discriminatory messages, and no impersonating another dealership.
  • No spam. Do not send the same message to many dealers who have not asked for it.

6. Do not attack the platform

  • No scraping, crawling, bots or bulk downloading of listings, photos, documents or dealer details.
  • No reverse engineering, decompiling or probing the app except to report a security problem to us.
  • No copying CarsBook content, branding, code or design to build a competing service.
  • No bypassing or attempting to bypass a suspension, a listing limit or a verification decision.
  • Do not upload malware, or interfere with another dealer's use of the app.

7. What we do about a breach

  • First, we tell you. We explain what was wrong and which rule it breaks.
  • We usually fix the listing. For a false detail, a bad photo or a wrong price, the listing is corrected or removed first.
  • Forged or false documents can lead to immediate suspension, because a forged RC affects a real vehicle's title.
  • For a serious or repeated breach we can suspend the account. We will tell you the reason and what would need to change to restore it.
  • For fraud, theft or forged documents we will preserve the relevant records and may report it to the police or the Motor Vehicles authority.

A deleted listing can be restored by a CarsBook administrator for a short recovery window, so an accidental deletion can be undone. See the privacy policy for how long that applies.

8. Reporting someone else

If another dealer breaks these rules, tell us through the grievance process. We will look into it and, where the rules are broken, act on that dealer's account. We will tell you the outcome, though we cannot share another dealer's details with you.

9. Changing these rules

We may update this policy as the product changes. The version that applied to you is the one in force when your account was created, except where a change protects the security of the network or its dealers, in which case the updated version applies from the day it is published.
