Terms of use

These terms explain what CarsBook is, who may use it, what a dealer promises when they list a car, and what CarsBook does and does not do. By registering a dealer account or using the app, you agree to them.

1. What CarsBook is

CarsBook is a marketplace platform that lets approved car dealers in India do four things: publish vehicle listings, browse listings published by other approved dealers, exchange messages and documents with those dealers, and negotiate and record an offer.

CarsBook provides the software, the network and the records. It does not act as a vehicle dealer, agent, broker, financier, insurer or payment service, and it does not take title to, or possession of, any vehicle.

2. Who may use CarsBook

• CarsBook is open to car dealers and dealer businesses registered in India.
• You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract.
• You must give accurate registration details: business name, owner name, mobile number, email address, address, city, state and pincode.
• One person or business may not operate multiple dealer accounts to obtain more free plans or more listing capacity than the plan allows.
• Impersonating another dealership, or using another dealership's documents, results in the account being blocked.

3. Dealer verification and approval

Registration creates an account in Pending state. The CarsBook team reviews the registration and either approves or rejects it. Verification normally takes 24 to 48 hours, and we may ask for additional information before deciding.

• Only an Approved dealer can open the marketplace, browse inventory, publish listings or send offers.
• An account may also be moved to Rejected, Suspended or Blocked. When an account is rejected, the app shows the reason.
• Approval activates the free plan described in section 4. The free plan is limited to one per dealer and one per device.
• We may suspend or block an account at any time where these terms have been broken, where information supplied is false, or where we are required to do so by law.

Verification means CarsBook has reviewed the business information you submitted. It is not a certification of the vehicles you list, of your ownership of them, or of the accuracy of your pricing.

4. The free plan

Every newly approved dealer receives the free plan. It costs nothing and it does not expire.

• Browsing is free for everyone, always. Browsing, filtering and searching the network, messaging approved dealers, and sending and receiving offers are never limited by a plan and never end because a plan lapsed.
• The free plan includes one car listing at a time.
• Each free listing runs for 30 days. A car you add on the free plan goes live and stays live for 30 days. You cannot remove or swap it during that period, because removing it early would let a single free slot be turned into unlimited free listings.
• When those 30 days are up the listing is taken down automatically and your free slot becomes available again, so you can list your next car. The cycle then repeats for as long as you stay on the free plan.
• You will be notified before a free listing is due to come down.
• Only one free plan is provided per dealer and per device.
• If a dealer has never held a paid plan, their first paid activation includes one extra month at no additional cost. The bonus applies once and does not repeat on renewal.

Paid plans exist for dealers who need more than one car live at the same time, or who want to change listings more often than once every 30 days.

5. Plans, listing limits and renewal

Publishing more than one car at a time requires a plan. Plans are sized by listing capacity and each runs for 30 days.

• Starter - 1 car listing at a time.
• Basic - 3 car listings at a time.
• Broker - 7 car listings at a time.
• Dealer - 15 car listings at a time. This is the maximum capacity available on CarsBook.

Plan prices and listing allowances are set by CarsBook and may change. The price that applies to you is the price shown to you at the time of purchase. A change to prices or allowances does not affect a plan you have already bought.

Every plan includes the same features. Plans differ only in how many cars you can have published at the same time. When you reach your limit, you cannot publish another car until you end or swap an existing listing. Renewing before your period ends avoids your listings being paused.

Plans are not transferable between dealer accounts, and a plan purchased for one account cannot be used to operate another.

5.1 Changing plan

• Free plan to a paid plan starts straight away. The paid plan runs its own 30 days from the moment you buy it.
• Renewing the plan you already have is allowed at any time, including before your current period ends.
• Moving from one paid plan to a different paid plan becomes available once your current plan has ended. Until then the app will show you the date you can switch.
• Days you have already paid for are never carried across to a different plan, and are not refunded as a result of a switch. This is why the switch waits for the current plan to end: you never lose time you have bought, and you never pay twice for the same day.
• The first-purchase bonus described in section 4 is added to the plan you buy, and is not affected by these rules.

Where a paid plan ends, your listings are hidden rather than deleted, and your account returns to the free plan. See the refund and cancellation policy for what happens to a payment.

6. Listing rules

When you publish a car you promise that:

• you own the vehicle, or have the seller's authority to offer it;
• every detail you enter, including make, model, variant, year, fuel, transmission, ownership, kilometres, price, city and photos, is accurate and current;
• the car is not subject to an active finance dispute you have not disclosed;
• you have the right to upload every photo and document you attach to the listing.

Listings are reviewed before they become visible. A maximum of 8 photos is permitted per car. False information, a duplicate listing, a listing for a vehicle you do not have the right to sell, or spam may cause the listing to be rejected, delisted, or your account to be suspended.

7. Documents and their privacy

Documents you attach to a listing, such as the registration certificate, insurance, pollution control certificate and service records, are private. They are not shown to the public and are not shown to other dealers unless and until you choose to share them with a specific dealer.

You remain responsible for the documents you share and for making sure you have the right to share them. CarsBook does not verify the contents of a document and does not warrant that a document is genuine, current or sufficient for a sale.

8. Payment, inspection and transfer of ownership

CarsBook does not process vehicle payments. CarsBook introduces dealers to one another. Everything that follows the introduction happens directly between the two dealers:

• inspection of the vehicle;
• payment for the vehicle;
• transfer of the registration certificate and any NOC;
• settlement of any dispute about the vehicle, its condition, its price or its paperwork.

Because of this, a deal agreed on CarsBook is not a contract with CarsBook. CarsBook is not liable for the conduct of either dealer, for the condition of a vehicle, for the truth of a listing, for a failure to pay, or for any dispute arising between the dealers. If a deal goes wrong, that is a matter for the two dealers and the relevant law, not for CarsBook.

Plan payments are the exception. When you buy a plan, payment is processed by our payment provider for that plan purchase only. CarsBook never holds vehicle funds.

9. Offers and counter offers

When you send an offer, a counter offer, or accept an offer, CarsBook records it against that vehicle as a negotiation timeline. Both dealers can see the sequence. The record is evidence of what was offered and accepted between the two dealers. It is not a contract of sale, and it does not transfer ownership or create any obligation for CarsBook.

10. Acceptable conduct

You must not:

• harass, threaten, defame or impersonate another dealer;
• list a vehicle you do not own or have authority to sell;
• upload photographs or documents belonging to someone else;
• copy, scrape, mirror or extract data from CarsBook using automated means;
• attempt to gain access to another dealer's account, listings or messages;
• use CarsBook to advertise to end customers, or to recruit drivers or customers onto your own off-platform channel.

Breaking these rules can lead to your listings being delisted and your account being suspended or blocked, without refund.

11. Availability of the service

CarsBook is provided on an as-available basis. We aim to keep the app, the marketplace and notifications working, and we publish service status at carsbook.mobi24.in/status. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Push notifications require the installed app and do not work inside Expo Go or a mobile browser.

12. Intellectual property

CarsBook, its name, logo, app design, code and documentation belong to CarsBook. You keep ownership of the photographs, documents and text you upload, and you grant CarsBook a licence to host, store, compress and display them for the purpose of operating the marketplace. You must not use CarsBook's name or branding in a way that suggests you are CarsBook.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CarsBook is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including any loss of profit, revenue or goodwill. CarsBook's total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid CarsBook for the plan on which the claim is based. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Your account and access

• You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You can edit your dealership profile from inside the app at any time.
• You can end or delete any listing you have published.
• You can close your dealer account at any time by contacting support. Where a paid plan is still running, the remaining period is not refundable.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the product changes. The current version is always published on this page, and the app shows the current version before you accept. If you continue to use CarsBook after a change, you accept the revised terms. Material changes that reduce your rights will be announced in the app before they take effect.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provision that applies to you.
